Nicolas Quillé – General Manager/Winemaker

nicholas_quilleI was born in Lyon, France, from a family in the wine business for three generations. I studied winemaking in Dijon, Burgundy and Reims, Champagne. I have worked in the cellar in France for Martin Prieur and Antonin Rodet in Burgundy and Domaine De La Courtade in Provence. I came to the United States in 1997 and worked for J. Lohr and The Hogue Cellars as winemaker (I also used my time in the Northwest to earn an MBA from the University of Washington). More recently I have worked for Bonny Doon Vineyard as General Manager under the protective wings of Randall Grahm. I had the opportunity through my career to touch many wine grapes, from Pinot Noir in Burgundy to Cabernet Sauvignon in California and of course Riesling in Washington.

Steven Sealock – Winemaker

steven_sealockGrowing up for a time in Germany and raised by a German mother you can begin to understand my love for wine and especially Riesling. When I started my carrier 15 years ago at Columbia Winery / Associated Vintners their Riesling was the best seller in their portfolio. I was also lucky enough to work with some of the best talent in the industry. While at Associated Vintners, I learned all I could from the winemakers, enologists, lab managers, barrel masters, & cellar masters in the company.

From there I moved to on to head up Operations & Winemaking at a company that produced wine in Washington and imported wine from around the world. This gave me the opportunity to travel to many winemaking regions in the world including Australia, Chile, Spain and Germany. So it felt like coming full circle when the opportunity to build an new winery for Pacific Rim Winemakers dedicated to making Riesling presented itself. Since Riesling was a wine that I had learned to appreciate from an early age it was an easy transition to make.

My luck continues as I now get to work with Nicolas Quillé and the best winery crew in the business. We stay sharp by setting the bar high and always striving to make the best wines we can. While our offerings have expanded to include wines other than Riesling, we always focus on making the best wine possible. And while I may spend a lot of time at the winery, in my off time, my wife Linda and I enjoy camping with our two dogs, and visiting family and friends.
