Noble Baron Cabernet 2008

90 Points – Wine Advocate
Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, February 2012

“Deep garnet in colour, the 2008 Noble Baron Cabernet Sauvignon has an evolved nose of warm cassis, kirsch, tobacco and olives with hints of earth and cigar boxes. Medium-full bodied, it offers great concentration and balance in the mouth with lively acid, medium to firm grainy tannins and good long finish. Showing a fair bit of maturity now, it should continue to give pleasure to 2019+”

“Perfectly fits the prototypical Barossa style of Cabernet, displaying ripe cassis and chocolate notes framed by ample oak. It’s mouthfilling and round, with no hard edges and a long, mint-tinged finish.”

“Opaque ruby. Candied cherry, vanilla and pipe tobacco on the perfumed nose. Expansive cherry and dark berry flavors show very good depth and energy, picking up spiciness with air. Supple tannins add shape to the long, juicy, velvety finish. This drinks very well right now but has the stuffing to age.”

“This is velvety, generous and nicely focused to play its ripe cherry and mint flavors against fine tannins on a medium-weight frame. Lingers on the finish. Drink now through 2015. “

Noble Baron Shiraz 2008

92 points – Wine Advocate
Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, February 2012

“Deep garnet coloured with a touch of brick tones, the 2008 Noble Baron Shiraz has notes of mature mulberries, kirsch and dried plum notes over sandalwood, tobacco, potpourri and baking spices. Full bodied, richly fruited and mature in the mouth, it has a medium to firm level of rounded tannins, enlivening acid and a long, layered finish. Drink it now and over the next 5-7 years.”

“Glass-staining purple. Fresh, perfumed aromas of black and blue fruits, licorice, cracked pepper and violet, along with some sexy oak spices. Broad, supple and sweet, with very good depth to the lively blackberry and licorice pastille flavors. This shapely, energetic shiraz shows no hard edges, finishing with supple tannins and excellent spicy persistence.”

“Ripe and aromatic, brimming with cherry and spice, with a fresh feel to the flavor profile as this lingers on the rich, powerful finish. Drink now through 2016.”
